SAMSUNG N850 SOUNDBAR HDMI PASSTHROUGH WINDOWS 10
Also noted on the latest windows 10 that it will pass through bitstream atmos now, via HDMI, which is great for Netflix which both the Samsung and shield do not support. I have a dennon av receiver and have to connect my shield TV direct to that to get atmos. All depends how many HDMI connections on your sound bar. So to answer your questions you need to connect directly to the sound bar with all the devices if you want atmos. From what I gather you will need earc which is part of the HDMI 2.1 Some devices can be updated to earc but at the moment no one seems to know. Connect any 4K video source like a game console, through the Samsung Harman Kardon soundbar to your TV for rich sound and 4K picture quality. It sends HD audio formats in digital form. With 4K Pass-through, a simple HDMI connection delivers the best in audio and picture quality. The only alternative method requires you to connect eight audio cables. Samsung only support Dolby digital+ on arc. It provides an easy, single cable method of sending HD audio formats such as Dolby True HD, DTS Master Audio, and 7.1 surround sound from an HD source to a Home Theater System. In my opinion, and based on other experiences read in other forums, the soundbar HW-Q90R is not capable of VRR passthrough and the TV Q7FN cannot do an Atmos passthrough from an external source. Will this support Dolby Atmos or does the devices need to be connected to the soundbar directly? Samsung have said it doesnt but i am not sure. Yes, I use the ARC port to connect the TV to the AVR. The only real problem I encountered was in paring the bar with the Samsung Phone app.
Design and Quality: The HW-N850 is another soundbar with thirteen speakers with built-in Dolby Atmos, meaning you will be getting lifelike immersion from the soundbar.
SAMSUNG N850 SOUNDBAR HDMI PASSTHROUGH FULL
The 4k pass through works well (it has 2 HDMI ports), and the bar sets itself to work perfectly with your existing Samsung TV remote. Product Description: With Dolby Atmos built-in, expect a full range of audio performance from the HW-N850. Things might be a little harder with a non-Samsung TV.
I have the soundbar connected to the TV via ARC and my Xbox, Ps4 and Sky Q box connected directly to the TV. Setup was a breeze, and this is due to having a Samsung TV. I have a MU8000 and a N850 with Dolby Atmos Soundbar. I really need just some confirmation here as Samsung Support has told me both yes and no.
